Nikitin sings “Samovars”

It’s “Samovars” sung by first soloist Victor Ivanovich Nikitin (Виктор Иванович Никитин) and second soloist S. Tibaev sing “Samovars” (Самовары) with the Alexandrov Ensemble, conducted by Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov (1941).

It’s apparently an army drinking song, but it’s ambiguous. You can’t tell whether it’s about throwing tea at people they don’t like, or about firing heavy mortars (nicknamed “samovars”) at the enemy. Either way they’re partying and playing sillybeggers, and it shows another side to Nikitin.
